Taylor Kitsch Stands By 'John Carter'

Taylor Kitsch will be battling aliens this summer when "Battleship" hits theaters next month, and that's not his first time fighting enemies from space this year. Of course, "John Carter" didn't exactly light up the box office, but Kitsch is still very proud of his work on the Mars-set science fiction flick. "My heart was [...]

Google TV YouTube app updated for better recommendations, search and sharing

It only makes sense that the Google TV initiative to increase personalization would extend to videos served up from its YouTube site, and now the official app has been updated to do just that. The new version brings recommendations meant to pull gems you might like out of the ever growing pile of content available, as well as a way to search between the new YouTube channels on your TV. Also users should notice improved video quality since the app will automatically try to play content at the best available resolution from the start, and if they find something interesting, it now supports +1 sharing to Google+. The new app is already live on Google Play, compatible devices should be pointed that way for the new experience.

Jimmy Kimmel at White House Correspondents Dinner: Mr. President, Salaam...

Mr. President, Salaam.

That's how Jimmy Kimmel kicked off his hilarious 25-minute speech at last night's White House Correspondents Dinner, an annual event that brings reporters together with celebrities and features a humor-based segment by both an emcee and the President himself.

You can follow this link to watch Obama lay into Mitt Romney, Donald Trump and even himself - and then you can check out the following video to see Kimmel go off on Sofia Vergara's cleavage; Obama's ears; the Kardashians; the Secret Service scandal and much more.

Chris Brown Under Fire For Dog-Breeding Business

Must be Friday. Chris Brown is stirring up controversy once again, but no pop singers or plate glass windows were bashed beyond recognition this time.

This time, he's not in trouble with the law though. It's just his apparent side business breeding dogs and selling them for profit that has people riled up.

The R&B superstar is drawing heat from animal-rights activists, obviously, who want him instead to promote adoptions of animals from shelters.

Chris Brown, Dog

On Monday, Brown's manager-mother, Joyce Hawkins, posted a link on her Twitter to CB Breeds, a website featuring this cute photo of her son and a pup.

CB Breeds is offering seven fully vaccinated American pit bull terrier pups for $1,000 a piece. Needless to say, the alleged puppy mill drew howls of protest.

While CB is a perfectly legitimate enterprise, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was quick to issue a statement condemning him:

"This is a moneymaking scheme, and Brown will count the suckers who fall for it as he counts the money on the way to the bank," PETA said.

"There is no such thing as a responsible breeder while wonderful dogs are being put down in animal shelters across the country for lack of a good home."

"Shelters will count the bodies in the barrel. As Justin Bieber, Kellan Lutz and [other responsible celebrities] always say, "Adopt, never buy."

The Los Angeles chapter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, meanwhile, decried what it called his "backyard breeding."

Said spcaLA president Madeline Bernstein:

"There is no reason to breed and produce more pit bull puppies when there are pit bull puppies waiting for homes in every shelter in America."

"Furthermore, as some of these dogs suffer from and are victims of their owner's misuse, they can be even harder to place."

A publicist for the singer denied to E! News that Chris Brown is breeding, insisting that the puppies were part of a litter birthed by his family's dogs back home in Virginia and were being sold to make sure they get good homes.

"He loves animals, especially dogs," said the rep.

Chris recently posed with a puppy belonging to GF Karrueche Tran, for what that's worth. Which is pretty much nothing, we admit. Sorry.

Five Reasons To See 'The Five-Year Engagement'

"The Five-Year Engagement" is not your typical romantic comedy. It has conflict built right into the title, instead of using a Nancy Meyers-esque turn of phrase. The writers behind "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller, have reteamed to reflect on what comes after popping the questions, and Segel and Emily Blunt lead a [...]

Science Explains Why So Few People Are Left-Handed [Science]

Left-handers aren't very common. In fact , they only represent about 10 percent of the human population. But a new study suggests that the reason lefties are in the minority isn't anything suspect—rather, it boils down to the fact that the human race cooperate more than they compete. More »
