The Mets' R.A. Dickey preparing to throw his signature knuckleball against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Citi Field in September.
An Amazin? feat
Port Jefferson Station, L.I.: Congratulations, R.A. Dickey, on winning the Cy Young Award. It?s times like this that I?m proud that I?ve remained a diehard Mets fan. Well done. Joanmarie Shults
Votes of confidence in the Prez
Bronx: The Daily News? Nov. 14 front page is right ? we are getting screwed by most of our leaders. But please don?t include our President. He has maintained complete integrity of the office despite the mess that was handed to him four years ago. I don?t believe in reincarnation, but if I did, I would believe that President Obama is our great President Abe Lincoln, born again, returned to finish the job of putting this country back together again. By the way, I am a Republican who voted for our President because the other guy was a complete dope. Lorenzo Tartaglia
Brooklyn: To those who want to secede from the U.S., I just want to know: Is that before or after FEMA helps you? You?re just embarrassed that President Obama defied all the negativity you have projected toward black people. This one is smarter than you ? he?s President of the United States of America. Marlene Ransom
Couldn?t give it away
Forest Hills: Mitt Romney thinks he lost because President Obama ?gave gifts? to the 47%. It couldn?t be because Romney ran a lousy campaign and insulted half the voting population ? which is why he lost. He is completely out of touch with the majority of Americans. Libby Gurgis
Verse-case scenario
Bronx: For those pseudo Christians who, during the campaign, misused Psalms 109:8 against President Obama, I have a verse for you: John 9:31, ?God heareth not sinners? prayers.? C. Simms
Fatal distraction
Farmingville, L.I.: The affair Gen. David Petraeus had is nothing more than a coverup for the attack in Benghazi. Attacking a consulate and killing an ambassador are acts of war. This President covered it up so it wouldn?t affect his reelection. Louis Puccio
Hey, big spenders
Woodhaven: Dear Bill Gates and Warren Buffett: You started a tremendous fund a few years ago to aid people in need. Please use some of that money to help Hurricane Sandy victims get into some kind of living quarters. People need places to live regardless of whether their dwellings were in Zone A, B or C. Those of us who can donate only small amounts of money and time would give much more if we could, but we can do only so much. You guys can make mountains move. Vera Matthews
Rotten from the top down I
Lynbrook, L.I.: From broken-down utilities, unconscionable salaries and perks and dismally failing schools, roads and bridges to a nonfunctional waste treatment system in Nassau County, our legislators continually show horrible leadership and a complete failure to perform. Jerry LaForgia
Rotten from the top down II
East Meadow, L.I.: Politicians and diapers should be changed regularly, and for the same reason. Now you can throw all LIPA executives into the mix as well. Gerry Burner
Crossed wires?
Manhattan: Is it possible that the people running LIPA are the same as those running NYCHA? Wayne Robinson
