Gamepad/Controller in Windows

Hey all,

I'm planning to get an Xbox 360 controller to play GRID 2 on.

However, the local store tells me that I should buy the Xbox 360 controller for Windows which looks like this

The question is, can I use a standard wired Xbox 360 controller that doesn't have the "for Windows" (and comes in the white and green packaging)? I prefer wired controllers for no batteries and the cost is cheaper by about 20$.

Alternatively, I can get the Logitech F510 for about 10-15$ cheaper than a wired 360 controller.

Aside from this, are there any alternatives I should consider? Which among the choices should I get?

Unfortunately for me, no space for a real wheel at home :/
