President Obama Visiting Austin on Thursday to Promote Middle Class Jobs
Dear Democrats,
President Obama was just in Texas a few weeks ago, and tomorrow he will be back for another visit! This time the President will be in Austin to kick off his Middle Class Jobs and Opportunity Tour.
President Obama understands the importance of giving all Americans access to quality education and work that pays decent wages. As he laid out in the State of the Union: We must make America a magnet for jobs, ensure our workers have the skills they need to compete for those jobs, and help hardworking Americans make a decent living.
That must be our North Star - a strong and vibrant economy built on good middle class jobs.
Sign our Thank You note to President Obama to let him know that you agree.
Even though some in Congress - and in our Statehouse - are determined to create more self-inflicted economic wounds, there are things Washington and Austin could be doing right now to help American businesses, schools and workers. ?We need to build on the progress made during President Obama's first term, and that means investing in things that are already creating good-paying, stable jobs that can support a middle class family. We see this progress reflected in the latest job numbers. In April 165,000 new jobs were created and the unemployment rate dropped to its lowest level since 2008. ?The economy added more jobs during four years under Obama than it did in the entire eight years under George W. Bush!
Things are getting better, but our economic recovery is not as strong as it could be and far too many middle class families are still struggling. ?The question is, will Republicans join with the President to make sure the middle class is strong and secure.
Sign our Thank You card to say that you stand with the President -- that you believe in quality education and that hard work should lead to a decent living.
The nation's eyes are again upon Texas. What we do here can lead the rest of the nation. We already know this. And this is why it is so important that we continue to work to elect Democrats, support public education and support our middle class families.
Thank you for your leadership.
Sincerely,
Gilberto Hinojosa
