Woman wants army of monkeys to fight cancer

An Omaha woman hopes to send some unique allies nationwide to help patients battling cancer.

?This is NoMo, and this is Phoenix, and they are SMAC monkeys,? explains Jennifer Windrum, holding up two decorated sock monkeys.? ?Cancer can be a lonely existence.?

?

Windrum knows that well, as her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer nearly 7 years ago.? Leslie Lehrman lives in Phoenix, and had to go to appointments and treatment on her own.?

In Omaha, Windrum had an idea.

?

?Something that she could have that reminded her that I'm with her, I'm there,? said Windrum.? She decorated the monkeys and sent them, along with love and support, to her mom.
