UMKC Human Resources: Holiday Closing and Business ...

Tuesday, December 25th and Tuesday, January 1st are designated as official University holidays, and UMKC will be closed on both dates.?Between these two holidays, UMKC will continue operations and will be open;?however, services in specific situations will be significantly reduced, and less staff will be required.

Deans and Vice Chancellors will be working with their leadership teams to determine the needed coverage and open hours for various units during this time. Based on the need for?service, some areas may close their offices and consolidate coverage with another area. Individuals choosing to take time off should plan to use vacation and/or personal days during this period and have appropriate approval. Managers are asked to make every effort to be flexible and considerate of employee requests for time off.
