Simple Ways on How to Have Self Confidence - Self Improvement


Self-confidence is a key to achievement and success. When believe in ourselves, when we believe in what we are doing, then it is much easier to achieve what we want. And confidence leads to a strong belief that I CAN DO IT.

So, how to have self confidence? What factors influence it? In this article, I am going to answer to these questions. But first, let's talk about the factors that influence our confidence.

According to psychologists, child's confidence largely depends on the parents' attitudes to the child. If parents convey a positive attitude, often praise and encourage him, then these actions affect the child's positive self-assessment. Also, it encourages confidence.

And conversely...

If parents constantly criticize a child, called him a loser, then this will determine child's insecurity and inferiority feeling. Such parents' behavior will influence the child's lower self confidence. Therefore, the experiences of childhood have a significant impact on adult's personality.

Now let's figure out ways on how to have self confidence:

Design a positive self-image

Self-image is the mental picture you hold in your mind about yourself. It is the way you see yourself in your imagination and that determines your behavior.

So, if you want to design a positive self-image, then try to hold daily visualization sessions. Just repeatedly image yourself, as you want to be. "Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture tenaciously. Never permit it to fade. Your mind will seek to develop this picture. Never think of yourself as failing; never doubt the reality of the mental image." (Book The power of positive thinking by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale).

Let go of the Past

If you have fallen a few times, it does not mean that you cannot try something new. Do not think that something is not for you, or you are too weak to achieve it. Usually, our negative experience leads to a lack of self-confidence and fear. And when you make a mistake, do not belittle yourself, but better think how can you learn from it. Keep in mind that mistakes help us to grow.

Keep a diary of Success

How to have self confidence by keeping a diary of success? In that diary, write down the things that you have done successfully. Keeping a diary of success may boost your self-confidence. So, carry that diary with yourself and read it when you need to feel better.

Identify Your Positive Traits

What are you good at? What do you like to do? What your positive traits are? More often focus on those positive traits and appreciate them. Never compare yourself with other people. Everyone of us is unique. There is no one can do things in the way you do them.

Expand your Self Knowledge

How to have self confidence? Better self knowledge also can help you to improve your self-confidence. Keep in mind, the more you work on yourself, the more you gain knowledge, the better you feel about yourself and the more confidence you have.

Associate with Positive and Optimistic People

You need to mingle yourself with people who make you feel like you. With people who are confident and optimistic and who never destroy your confidence.

Maintain a Good Physical Condition

How to have self confidence? Start Exercising. Regular exercise has many positive benefits. It can help you feel more energy. It will better your mood and you feel better about yourself. As a result, it will boost your confidence.
