Lightweights not on Fox: Ben Henderson believes he?ll be in primetime soon

UFC on Fox features a great lead-in fight to the main event, but the nationwide television viewing audience will never see it.

Clay Guida and Ben Henderson have probably been asking hundreds of times if they're disappointed that they won't get the Fox exposure. They're responses have been similar the entire way. Henderson and Guida both believe that in the end their performance will force the fight to be squeezed into the broadcast.

"Someway, somehow, this fight will make it to air," Henderson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "(UFC president) Dana White will want this fight on prime-time television after he sees it. He'll be like, 'Oh, wow, we need to get this on TV.' I'm going to make sure of that."

Henderson is really more concerned with locking up a lightweight title shot. While champ Frank Edgar and No.1 contender Gray Maynard sat on the sidelines because of injuries for most of 2011, the guys next in line all lost their chance to clinch their shot at the winner. Henderson says he won't let that happen.

"(Edgar) better bring a pen and paper so (he) can take notes," Henderson said he'll be in the spotlight soon enough. "Give me another year. I'll be there."

Guida and Henderson have no shot of making the Fox broadcast. It'll be jam-packed with a lengthy prefight preview and plenty of postfight coverage if the Cain Velasquez-Junior dos Santos fight ends quickly.

The lightweight contender fight will be part of the live coverage on Fox Deportes and Fox.com (7 p.m. ET).
